Issue 34 – August 2023
Summer is for kicking back and slowing down, but our unusual flurry of proposal activity has us doing exactly the opposite. During this historically slow time of year, we have been writing and compiling an average of five proposals a week with a constant flow of presentations and interviews—all good news for prospective work. New awards since our last issue have exceeded $115 million.
Congratulations to the Holy Family Home team for successfully completing the first phase of work for The Little Sisters of the Poor. The client was so pleased, they awarded INTECH with the second and third phases of work, ensuring our presence on site through the summer of 2025. We’ve seen big progress at Elmwood Park Zoo with the welcome center project topping out this week, and the steel is rising at 3151 Market bringing some much-needed density to the urban corner. Another exciting project is brewing at the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab with campus-wide critical infrastructure work. Should we get awarded the $75 million contract, it would build up INTECH’s experience with the infrastructure work currently happening at Pennovation Works for the University of Pennsylvania. In the academic sector, we’re compiling proposals for a large Veterinary School at Rowan University and a new charter school in Trenton, NJ.
On the interior side, the Renovations/Interiors group had some impressive wins since our last issue in April. There is continued work with the 76ers for a new owners’ lounge, fit-outs for Ardent Federal Credit Union and the law firm Post & Schell, as well as a notable fit-out at The Laurel for Philadelphia’s first high-end Equinox Club. The Insomnia Cookies headquarters has secured a prominent spot in the historically significant 1 S Broad Street building with three levels of renovations including offices, training space, a tasting lab, and preparations for what will be the Insomnia Cookies flagship store on the ground floor. The team closed out the second quarter with over $22 million in awards.
We appreciate everyone’s efforts in making our continued growth a collaborative process. We’re staying positive with the work in our pipeline and look forward to reporting on additional wins.
