Size: 8,500 SF
Client: RSM US
Architect: Intec Group

This project was a major renovation to a tax accounting firm on the 7th floor of the United Engineers building, located at 30 S. 17th Street. With a 10-week duration, the timing of the renovation coincided with the height of tax season. It included renovations to the existing reception and kitchen areas, as well as a 7,600 SF expansion. Off-hours coordination was required in the main reception area to remove and replace the porcelain floor title while keeping the facility open at all times, work that was complicated by expanded work hours needed by the occupants.

Key features included adding a conference room with glass fronts and doors, as well as a folding partition that required structural support from the slab above. The existing pantry doubled in size with added millwork and all new finishes. The expansion space included open plan work stations with a few perimeter offices and a conference room. The most difficult part of the expansion was that the new work stations required 11 floor cores into the occupied space below, a law firm with stringent access requirements. With good communication and coordination by INTECH’s Superintendent, the project went as smoothly as possible.
