Architect: Cuhaci & Peterson

This project for Wawa is their flagship Center City Philadelphia store, the first to have in-store hightop seating for customers. It is located on the ground floor
of a University of the Arts building at the corner of Broad and Walnut Streets, an extremely busy location with steady sidewalk foot traffic, day and night.

It was a fast-tracked project with high-end finishes including millwork, stone countertops, ceramic tile- clad walls, terrazzo floors, and interactive media boards throughout. In addition to the high-end interior finishes, a new precast stone facade, glass and aluminum storefront, and a metal-clad custom canopy were installed. Great care was taken in the design and coordination of the new exterior facade in order
to maintain the historic look of the building while still showcasing the unmistakable Wawa sign and goose. Everything from the paint colors and color of the terrazzo floor to the design of the millwork, stone countertops, and light fixtures was a first to be used in a Wawa.
