William Penn Charter School – Lower School

Project Description

The new William Penn Charter Lower School provides learning communities for pre-K to fifth grade with spaces for classrooms, movement, art, music, a woodshop, and an IdeaLab. A new library, wellness and meditation spaces, and a sky garden are integrated into the building with seamless access to outdoor classroom areas and play spaces. A learning amphitheater, dry river bed, wood bridge, overlook, and library terrace comprise the natural and hardscape-activity spaces.

The new building takes the place of an outdated field house, the functions of which moved to the recently completed Graham Athletics & Wellness Center, also an INTECH project. The two-story project is complemented by many site improvements on the 47-acre campus. On the heels of the new Graham Athletics building, the new Lower School is the most recent addition to the William Penn Charter campus.
