INTECH has completed four phases of work in a 13-month, multi-phase engagement to the Operating Rooms at Fox Chase:
Phase I: Two New Operating Rooms
Phase II: Renovation to Waiting Rooms, Anesthesia Rooms and Offices
Phase III: Thirteen Pre-op Patient Rooms
Phase IV: Seven Post-op Patient rooms
The chief challenge of this project was working in an occupied hospital during construction. Six fully operational operating rooms were adjacent to INTECH’s site. The most crucial element in the planning and preparation of the work site was the Level Four ICRA requirements. Success depended upon two factors: schedule and budget. The schedule was immovable — there was an absolute finish date to meet FCCC’s medical scheduling needs. The budget for this work was also strict; bonds were sold according to an original budget, and no additional funds could be earmarked.
