INTECH constructed a new education and training center for Congreso de Latinos Unidos. During the day, the school hosts the Pan American Academy Charter School for grades K-8. In addition to typical classrooms, the building contains a small kitchen, a cafetorium (a single space serving as both a cafeteria and auditorium), administrative offices, a music classroom, an art classroom, a science classroom, and a library.
The building also hosts higher education evening programs for Harcum College, in addition to supporting other Congreso community health and social functions. The building is supported on driven timber piles, due to the placement of the building over a former fill site.
Working with our architect and with INTECH personnel, a plan was speedily put together, and INTECH got to work in an efficient and organized manner to deliver a unique final product. INTECH’s cooperation and personal attention were extraordinary not only during the 11 months of construction, but also before at the planning process and after to close the project.
