The Penn Catholic Newman Center is the first and oldest of over 2,000 Newman Centers in the nation. The new glass-enclosed addition introduces a modern language and links two historic stone buildings, an existing church and the existing Newman Center, creating a gracious entrance through the landscaped courtyard. The new glass entry brings much-needed light into the building and reveals the original arched limestone and granite space, which doubles as a gathering area and a means to communicate Center happenings. In addition to the new construction, INTECH renovated the 200-seat banquet hall, a large lounge for informal gatherings, offices, meeting rooms, and an intimate chapel on the second floor.
