The Lenfest Plaza project created a new open plaza connecting the original PAFA Furness Building to the Hamilton Building with a pedestrian area extending from Broad Street west to Cherry Street. The project included new sidewalks, curbs, lighting, benches, and platforms, as well as provisions for a statue at the east end of the plaza. There were also enhancements to the western-most section of Cherry Street from the west end of the plaza to 15th Street, as well as upgraded traffic signalization at the intersection of 15th and Race Streets.
