INTECH completed a two-story addition to Temple University’s Edberg-Olson Hall on a tight schedule and while the existing facility remained in full operation. New training, administrative, and academic areas, including three new therapeutic pools and an expanded and updated physical therapy area, were added to the existing building. A state-of-the-art strength training gym, complete with new equipment management, laundry, and locker room areas, was constructed in the new portion of the facility.

An expansive rooftop patio area was added to the building using an elevated paver system and custom fabricated aluminum trellises and awnings. A sheltered outdoor platform for filming and observing practice sessions was constructed on the roof of the new facility. The “Owl’s Nest”, an area for meetings and group events with high-end finishes and an extensive lighting and audio/visual system, was constructed on the second floor of the new complex. Dedicated academic spaces were added, and existing administrative spaces were renovated, providing the University’s football program with a conference facility for recruiting, fundraising, and training activities.

INTECH’s team delivered the project within the confines of a tight schedule and an inflexible completion date. Attention to proactive problem-solving and responsiveness to the Owner’s evolving program allowed INTECH to manage the complexities of construction within an occupied facility while delivering a high quality project that exceeds expectations.
