Mayer Hall is a seven-story student residence originally constructed in 1964. A comprehensive upgrade was completed to improve the mechanical systems including the replacement of room fan coil units. Electrical service components were replaced in addition to unit kitchens where electric ranges replaced existing gas stoves. Main plumbing and HVAC systems were replaced including rooftop air handling units, exhaust fans, pumps, compressors, and direct digital controls. New energy recovery units were installed with rooftop duct work. In addition, cosmetic changes were made inside of the units. All this work took place during the summer recess of 2012. This represents the tenth summer that INTECH has worked on the University of Pennsylvania campus constructing a student housing residence upgrade.
