INTECH performed pre-construction services prior to multiple phases of comprehensive renovations at University of Pennsylvania’s Quadrangle College Houses. Initially involved during a feasibility phase, INTECH worked closely with the design team and the University to develop project scope, phasing, logistics, and schedule. The feasibility study reviewed many conditions, including exterior envelope, code and accessibility compliance, building system infrastructure, common program spaces, circulation and room layout, and interior finishes. As a multi-phase project, repairs and renovations to the facility and improvements to the student experience were prioritized and sequenced for phasing efficiency. Ongoing phased renovations include steep-slope slate and copper roof replacement, masonry and window restoration, chimney lining and consolidation, common space upgrades and relocations, accessibility improvements, improved bathroom facilities, and a complex, phased replacement of aging central plant equipment and MEP infrastructure.
